Footprint Introduces Earth-Friendly Eco Cooler Ahead of Labor Day

Breakthrough plant-based fiber Eco Cooler provides weekend celebrators an alternative to foam and plastic disposable coolers

GILBERT, Ariz. (Sept. 2, 2021)Footprint,  a materials science company focused on creating a healthy planet, introduced today its plant-fiber-based fiber Eco Cooler designed to protect Mother Earth and provide consumers with an earth-healthy option for celebratory occasions. The Eco Cooler is one of the many products Footprint engineers, designs and manufactures to create a healthier planet and healthier people with solutions to eliminate single-use plastic.

“We developed the Footprint Eco Cooler to give people who care about the Earth an alternative to well-known disposable coolers that take a lifetime to degrade and can harm people and wildlife in the process,” Footprint CEO Troy Swope said. “Leisure activities like Labor Day picnics, tailgating gatherings, music festivals and even fishing trips should be fun without having negative impact on the earth or on human health.”

The plant-based fiber Eco Cooler has the capacity to hold 24-cans with five pounds of ice, keeping drinks cool for up to 15 hours. Its lid holds up to four beverages and has a unique, speaker-boosting mobile phone stand designed to amplify sound. Footprint engineered the double-walled cooler to hold water for over five days without leaking, chipping or breaking down like foam coolers.

Also available with the Footprint Eco Cooler is the Footprint picnic kit. The eco-friendly picnic kit comes fully equipped with six small bowls, lunch plates, serving trays, utensil kits, small plates, and small cups. All picnic supplies are also reusable and plastic-free.

The cooler is available in-store at Harris Teeter on the East coast and on-shelves this week in Arizona Fry’s Food & Drug Stores.

“As we roll into the holiday weekend, we’re delighted to offer an earth-friendly cooler option for our customers,” said Nathan Spear, division merchandiser for Drug/GM, Fry’s Food Stores. “It’s important to us to support local businesses and carry items that bring value to our customers as we’ve done the past 60 years.”

In a recent report from Wunderman Thompson, “Regeneration Rising: Sustainability Futures”, 81% of respondents say that if brands make it easier to reuse or recycle their products and packaging, they are more likely to make a purchase. Footprint works with global consumer brands to help them make the move away from single-use plastics.

Customers can purchase the Footprint Eco Cooler for $5.99 and the Footprint picnic kit for $14.99. For more information about the Eco Cooler and Footprint, visit www.footprintus.com.
